Why Do You Need To Use Social Media For Your Brand?

So why would you need to use social media to support your brand and your business?

Other than the very obvious fact that it is a constantly evolving landscape in the world of business and marketing, there are so many other reasons as to why you should have a social media presence for your brand!

Now, we know we have already shared with you how to plan a social media strategy, which can be read here, but we didn’t dive deep into the importance of why you need to utilize social media.

Not only is social media a great tool for reaching a wider audience without leaving your home but it also costs way less money (compared to OOH advertising, such as radio or television commercials or billboards or advertising on benches and the sides of buses). You can pay for ads or boosted posts on social media, and you can work yourself up quite the bill doing that, but other than paid ads,  it is a tool that costs no money to sign up for! And you CAN grow your following organically, with a super knowledgeable understanding of how social media works.

Perfect for any sized company, social media can help humanize your brand and encourage relationship building and brand trust. This is because when you are on social media there needs to be someone in charge of community management (engaging with other people and brands, liking and commenting on other posts, sharing posts, and following other accounts). When you are actively engaging with other people/brands, you are reassuring others that:

  1. Your account is active.
  2. Your account isn’t spam.
  3. You prioritize communication.

All of these are super important for building up a brand – people love to support other people. When you prioritize communication on social media, they are assured that you will reply in a timely manner and that you care about them and their support.

Social media is also an amazing way for your brand to produce quick content and gain brand awareness! The whole idea of social media is for as many people within your target audience to view it as possible. Remember when we mentioned organic? That essentially means that you can use social media to share your content from your other marketing mediums (website content, blogs, vlogs, articles, reviews, products, testimonials, etc). This is organic content, content that you don’t pay for. You may already have it, or you may be in the works of creating it, but share that sh*t on your social media channels! You will create cross referencing that will bring us back to building trust! When people see that you have the same branding and communication across multiple different mediums that will gain more trust and loyalty from your audience.  It can also drive traffic and leads to your website or other online properties. By creating and promoting high-quality content on social media platforms, businesses and organizations can attract new visitors and encourage them to take action.

But wait, there’s more! Social media is also great for gathering data and insights: it provides a wealth of data and insights that can be used to inform marketing and help form business decisions. By tracking metrics such as engagement, reach and conversions, businesses and organizations can gain a better understanding of their target audience and the effectiveness of their social media efforts.

A key thing to remember is that success requires a deep understanding of the target audience, the goals and objectives of the business or organization, and the capabilities and limitations of the social media platforms being used. It also requires a commitment to creating high-quality, relevant and engaging content that resonates with the target audience and effectively communicates the value of the brand of the business/organization.
